Siobhan is a ceramic artist who has established a ceramics studio practice after graduating from Sunderland University in 2017. In her creative practice, she explores themes of transposed design through experimental slip casting and building.
She draws her interest from nature when creating her artwork. Everyday objects from garments to table ware are transformed into metaphorical artifacts which distort their function and exaggerate their aesthetic.
When creating her work, she relies on the unpredictable element of adding different chemicals to clay bodies and glazes. She utilises the various outcomes and combines them into her work, amalgamating naturalised forms into a collective whole. Her work is both natural yet un- natural; controlled and unpredictable, it is through these combined traits that her creativity flourishes.
